The Mary Seacole Day Nursery aims to provide a happy and stimulating environment where each child’s culture is acknowledged and appreciated. Each week you will see displayed in the room play opportunities.
The learning programme that is used with the babies and toddlers aged 3 months to 3 years is "Birth to Three Matters...". This is a learning structure that nurseries are encouraged to use and it encourages the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of your child while s/he is with us.
Within each area of learning, there are a number of components, which we as a team plan and provide opportunities and activities to help your child develop some key developmental skills.
The four areas of this learning framework and their components are:
|1.||A Strong Child:||Me, myself and I|
|Being acknowledged and affirmed|
|A Sense of Belonging|
|2.||A Skilful Communicator:||Being together|
|Finding a voice|
|Listening and responding.|
|3.||A Competent Learner||Making connections|
|4.||A Healthy Child||Emotional well being|
|Growing and developing|
